I did all of my coloring in photoshop using water effects to give of the look of an actual water color painting. This is a concept illustration I just completed for my digital media class.
Both of these sketches are the results of being up late unable to sleep. They are just kinda chaotic and free which is nice to do sometimes. Just throwing downs lines on paper with no plan in mind and no worries of how it will turn out in the end. It is liberating, try it sometime!
I was recently commissioned to create a T-shirt design for a band called We The Fearless. I decided to show the process from the inked sketch, to the color comp in photoshop, to the final printed result. I had a lot of fun creating this and it was the first crest for me to ever design so that was cool to do as well.
I created the first piece as a poster for my band then made a negative version of it in photoshop for the second poster and messed with text and adjusted a few other things.
I messed up on the lips a little but thats the joy of drawing with a pen, you make your mistakes part of the picture. I really enjoy how the eyes came out in this piece.
I looked at 4 different animal references (wolf, deer, gorilla, and leopard) and tried combine them on paper. I sketched it out with pen so I was unable to erase. It was kind of a fun experiment to see what I came up with.
I spent many hours creating this illustration and I am pretty pleased with the results. After completing this it inspired me to write a short story about the untold life of the cherry tree and as to why george chooses to end its life. The story shall be intense and fun. Whatever progress I come up with will most likely seen on this blog so stay tuned my friends.
